Campaign Shared Hard Drive

Campaigns often need to share files amongst various members of the campaign staff. While there are various versions of Internet storage solutions, including FTP, they are often difficult to manage. Third party solutions are often costly and do not scale.

Jungledisk offers an affordable and easy to use shared storage solution. The service only costs $2 per user per month, plus $0.15/GB of storage. This rate of storage is extremely affordable compared to many other vendors who charge much more on a per GB basis.

Jungledisk gives users two storage options. The default option is to store information on Rackspace servers. This gives the campaign drive sizes of 1 TB. This solution does not charge for data transfer.

The alternative solution is to store data on Amazon drives using their S3 product. S3 offers a similar per GB fee; but it adds data transfer fees. Though this can be slightly more expensive, it can tie into services that use Amazon cloud computing services. At the very least, S3 can serve to share files publicly.

On the user end, Jungledisk simply looks like a mapped drive on the network. The user will be able to access and write files to the storage space as though they were on the local network so long as there is an Internet connection.

This solution works very well for campaigns that have multiple offices that must share files.

The only practical requirements for setting up a Jungledisk file sharing system are that the persons using the service have high-speed internet. Trying to squeeze large files like movies, music, or photos through dial-up would be impractical. There are various broadband solutions available today including DSL, cable, wireless broadband, satellite Internet, DS1, and others.
